First Steps

As I've parked in the garage, front of the car towards entrance, I've started from the beginning - front of the car.

Here's the initial state:

All the repairs that previous owner(s) done were like this: weld patch panel over rusted area, cover with whatever paint you have at hand, wait until it's rusted then weld next patch on top of previous one. Best place had 4 layers like this.

Few things were so rusted on both sides that I had to recreate them from pictures from the internet or just 'estimate' how it should look like based on nearby elements.

The red matte paint that's brushed on is Novol Bodywork Primer from their series Novol For Classic Cars. It's temporary rust protection (datasheet says up to 6 months, but in my conditions it's working great for two years without any noticeable changes), weld-trough primer (that doesn't smell like death like epoxy does when you weld over it).

All patches were made from cold rolled sheet metal DC01 - most of body 1.25mm thick, sills 1.5mm and fenders 1mm. Welded with MIG 0.8mm copper coated solid wire, CO2 or Argon CO2 mix as shield.

First attempt at floors was to patch the holes in hope that it wouldn't bother me to leave some pitted areas. But it did bother me, so I've re-done whole floors. That's what being me feels like ;)
